How Do I Start?

Free Initial Consultation

We provide assistance to nonprofits, churches, community development corporations, foundations, and businesses at all stages of the proposal development process. If you are in the beginning stages where you are considering a proposal, you may want to send us a short summary of your project(s) and funding requirements. If you have already prepared a draft proposal and would like for us to review the contents, we can evaluate your draft to determine the areas of improvement and all the steps needed to complete it. Our evaluation will help you determine the scope of work and costs of contracting our service. This initial 30 minute consultation is free, confidential, and does not obligate you in any way.

After the initial consultation and based on the information recommended to your organization or business, if your organization is interested in proceeding, we would then draft a letter of agreement or contract outlining the project and projected cost. Once the contract is signed and payment is received your organization will be sent a client package outlining all of the material needed to successfully complete your project.

In accordance with the Association of Fund Raising Professionals (AFP) guidelines, we do not work on a commission basis.

The letter of agreement/contract includes deadlines, our responsibilities to you, and the end products that we will produce and give to your organization (i.e., funding list of funding agencies and information on them, or mock grades/edits of your proposal, or a full narrative with supporting information and data).

For out-of-state and offsite travel of more than 3 hours clients are required to pay the consultant’s daily rate plus travel arrangements and hotel accommodations.

For organizations that need ongoing funding support to identify grant funding competitions, we offer a retainer-based service that is based on an initial deposit and a monthly fee depending on the services outlined. The services can also include monthly grant searches, RFP requests, strategic planning/grant planning sessions with board members or staff, and much, much more.
